To apply online for admission to study through UNISA for undergraduate qualifications such as Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas & Degrees, Higher Certificate Programmes or Courses, and Advanced Certificate Courses for the 2024 academic year, all applications must be submitted online during the appropriate application period.
Please apply for admission as soon as possible if you are interested in starting a new program/course. Applicants to the University of South Africa (UNISA) must submit the following documents:
- Applicants applying for the first time
- For UNISA students who are interested in changing programmes or specializing.

You can check the status of your application. Your application will be acknowledged within three weeks of the application deadline, and UNISA will give you information about how to track the progress of your application.

Applications for 2024-2025: Unisa Online Application Process
How is the selection process conducted?
- For all undergraduate degrees, honours degrees, and postgraduate diplomas, the University of South Africa (UNISA) will open or accept the Online Application Form fromΒ 14 May to 19 July 2024.
- If there are spaces available for the 2024-2025 academic year, UNISA will notify Late Application applicants.
- It is always advisable to submit admission applications online. The regional offices will not have self-help stations for applications.
- It is not automatic to be accepted to a qualification. Rather, it will depend on whether you meet the admission requirements and if there are openings.
- In the selection process, you are given a points score based on your final Grade 12 marks, as well as other important factors like your gender, socioeconomic status, and race.
THE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS FOR ONLINE APPLICATION FOR UNISA 2024-2025
The following documents are required for applicants interested in starting a new program:
- The copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport, if you are an international student
- If the documents are not in English or Afrikaans, they need to be translated sworn
- Please provide a copy of your school qualifications, Senior Certificate, and National Senior Certificate
- Please provide a copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
- Please send a copy of your official tertiary academic records (if applicable)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR UNISA ONLINE APPLICATION 2024-2025
You must be able to meet specific admission requirements for the program you have chosen to apply for admission to the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2024-2025.
You may want to consider other options for qualifications if you donβt meet these specific requirements. UNISA Application For
- UNISA reserves a small number of places for specific programs. There is no place for you in the 2024 academic year if you meet the general or particular entry requirements for a degree.
- If you do not have a Senior Certificate with an endorsement showing that you have been exempt from matriculation requirements, click HERE to find out if you are eligible to apply.
- A certified copy of your Academic Record and Conduct Certificate is required.
- The SAQA evaluation and syllabus must be provided by all international applicants
