Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for bathing and shampooing animals, as well as cleaning and disinfecting cages, pens, kennels, and other enclosures. Additional duties include keeping records of all treated animals, cleaning animal ears, and maintaining and ordering supplies. The candidate will also provide flea bath treatments, clip animal nails, and perform dental cleaning on domestic animals.

The candidate will demat and detangle pet hair, bathe, condition, and dry pets, trim nails, brush teeth, and clean ears. Responsibilities include grooming pets according to owner instructions, accommodating special requests, identifying and reporting health issues, ensuring pet safety, cleaning work areas, and recommending products to pet owners.

Job Requirements

The candidate must be fluent in English, with a high school diploma or equivalent experience. Ideally, the candidate will have 1 to 7 months of related experience, and fluency in Japanese is an asset. The candidate must be able to handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and should be client-focused, dependable, flexible, and reliable, with strong interpersonal, communication, and judgment skills. Being a good team player is essential.

A high school diploma or GED is required, and certification from the National Dog Groomer Association of America is advantageous. The candidate should have proven professional grooming experience, a strong understanding of animal behavior, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy pets and equipment. Compassion for animals, excellent communication, and exceptional customer service skills are essential.
