About the Job
To head the Company’s Human Resource Activities in the areas of Labour Relations, Recruitment, Job Description preparation, Policies and Procedures.
To manage the Employee Communication programs to promote good employee relations.
Responsibilities
- Recommends and implements employee related policies and HR strategies to attract, retain and motivate staff through manpower planning, recruitment and selection, performance management system, training and development and compensation and benefits.
- Develops and maintains HR policies, structures and administrative procedures, which promote trust and confidence among staff and enable line management to manage and motivate staff.
- Develops and maintains cordial management and employee relations and provide counsel to line management on employee related matters to promote industrial peace and productivity.
- Manages the performance management system as an effective tool for rewards management and career development requirement; serve as advisor to line management on Career Development, advising on methods and procedures, providing counsel on placement and selection of employees and monitoring the implementation of approved development programs.
- Develops and implements a career development and succession planning system that provides back-up human resources for continuity in key management positions.
- Audits draft job descriptions, prepares them in finished form for evaluation; assists with evaluation by conducting relevant studies and analysis and make appropriate grading recommendations. Keep a running file for current job descriptions.
- Liaises with Legal Manager on all legal matters affecting employees and other related matters.
- Maintain and comply with the internal Environmental, Health and Safety Management System requirements. Understanding of the role of HR in modern organization
- Working knowledge in in-depth knowledge of Ghana Labour laws
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing when interpreting and explaining information relating to business plans, HR Strategies, Processes, Programs and Procedures
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualification
- A minimum of first degree in Human Resource, and studies Management, Social Science or equivalent qualification required
- A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience.
- A plus if worked in an oil and gas industry prior or a degree in Law.
